Melody Inspires Verse

A collaboration with musical artists.

An Album in the Making

Soulstice is an eleven-track Indie Rock album. The lyrics explore themes of self-differentiation, as well as nature and how it nurtures spirituality. What began as a partnership between a lyricist and front-man has become a multi-artist collaboration with guest musicians being invited in. My role is to write verse for melodies provided by the musicians. Production of the album is wrapping up and it will be released sometime in 2026.

Take Aim

Ends of the earth, akin at the core.
In wholeness, neither needs more.
Facing out, hiding a shared center.
Secrets like ember, heating the temper.

Keeping it private and dark inside.
Turning inward, nowhere to hide.

A shooting star on a summer lake,
finding its home beneath the wake.
Falling in, sinking down.
Shining up, shining on, shining on
now.

Up from the depths, mirror the sky.
Feel the droplets when it cries.
Beauty is now in all existence.
Options run out, no more resistance.

No one to hide from, take aim.
It’s not a game with nothing to gain.

A shooting star on an autumn lake,
finding its home beneath the wake.
Splashing in, sinking down.
Shining up, shining on, shining on
now.

A shooting star on a frozen lake,
finding its home beneath the quake.
Crashing in, sinking down.
Shining up, shining on, shining on
now.

Sample Take Aim

The Monster You Made

Lean to, I’m searching wide.
The path, I tried to hide.
I hear the rising tide.

The stars, they light the way.
Through pools of darkened fray.
So deep, and deeper astray.

You said, you’d always lead me.
But now, I’m running, running blind.

It’s too wild, it’s too wild, it’s too wild, the monster you made.
It’s too wild, it’s too wild, it’s too wild, the monster you made.

If I rise this time, I can bring to life the light that glimmers.
The wind sings my way, I remember how it creeps and cries.
But now I’m far from home.

If I carry on, I can live a life of no tomorrow.
If I take some time, I can wager on the flooded sorrow.
For now, I’m on my own.

You said, come on, let’s wander.
But now, I’m aiming, aiming high.

It’s too wild
It’s too wild
It’s too wild, the monster you made.

Too wiiiiiild and so peculiar,
Too wiiiiild and unfamiliar,
And now we’ve lost control.
